The annual Arbor Day celebration will be hosted by the Keep Pearland Beautiful Committee on January 14, 2012 at the Pearland Community Center, 3523 Liberty Drive.

Tree seedlings will be given away from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as long as quantities last. Varieties available this year are Southern Catalpa, Persimmon, Spicebush, Southern Waxmyrtle and Eastern Red Cedar. John Walters, Pearland’s Urban Forrester will be demonstrating proper planting and pruning techniques for trees.

There will be many handouts at the event including the “Trees for Pearland” guide.
