Manvel Mavericks Football Team Continues Their Playoff March

The Manvel Mavericks Football team continue their playoff march. Manvel beat the Dayton Bronco football team 49-10 on Friday, November 25th to upgrade their record to 13-0 on the season.

Manvel will play the fourth round quarterfinal championship game against La Marque at Galena Park ISD Stadium, 15025 Wallisville Road on Saturday, December 3 at 2 pm. Presale tickets are available with Claire Peterson at the MHS Football Office, Adult $8, Student $6, $10 at the gate. Manvel will sit on the visitors side of the stadium.

Undefeated Manvel Mavericks Football Team Prepares for Third Round Regional Championship Game

The Manvel Mavericks (11-0) puts its undefeated record on the line against Yates (7-4) in a Division II area encounter at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Pasadena ISD Memorial Stadium. In this second round of the Playoffs, the Manvell Mavericks Football team won Friday's game against the Yates Lions by a score of 53-18.

These 2011 undefeated area champs will have their Third Round Regional Championship game on Friday, November 25th at 7 pm against Dayton. The game will be held at Deer Park ISD's Abshier Stadium, 710 W. San Augustine, Deer Park, TX 77536. For a map and ticket information, go here now.

Pearland Parks and Recreation Turkey Shoot-Out

Come out and celebrate Thanksgiving with a festive Turkey Shoot-Out!

On November 19 join Pearland Parks and Recreation from 1 to 5 PM for a competitive skills test in three different areas: 3-point contest, skills and drills where participants will dribble their way through an obstacle course. The final event will be the Turkey Shoot-Out, where participants will attempt to score as many points as possible from designated spots on the court in under two minutes.

Pearland Tour De Lights Family Bicycle Ride

The 18th Annual Tour de Lights Family Bicycle Ride is sponsored by Keep Pearland Beautiful will be part of Pearland’s holiday line up on December 10th. It is a fun family bicycle ride through the Green Tee Subdivision to view the spectacular Christmas lights; the neighborhood is known for their Christmas spirit. Participates will meet at the pavilion in Independence Park and depart promptly at 7pm. Afterwards, participates can return to the pavilion in Independence Park for Christmas cookies and hot chocolate. A hayride will be available only to those who are unable to ride a bicycle and has a limited amount of space available.

Manvel High School Advances in High School Football Playoffs

The Manvel Mavericks Football team won Friday's Playoff game against the El Campo Ricebirds by a score of 35-21.

The Mavericks move ahead in the Class 4A high school playoffs. Next game is Friday at 7 p.m. at Pasadena's Memorial Stadium against Houston Yates (7-4) vs. Manvel (11-0).

New Medical Device Facility being Built in Pearland

According to a press release from the Pearland Economic Development Corporation, Merit Medical Systems will be constructing a research and development facility at 14646 Kirby Drive. The two level facility will house approximately 220 employees and is about 118,000 square feet. In the press release, Mayor Tom Reid said, “It has been a long-standing goal of the city to cultivate a broad spectrum of medical related organizations in our community.

University Houston- Clear Lake Hosts Open House for Pearland Campus

The University of Houston at Clear Lake now has a branch open in Pearland. Schedule a campus tour and sign up for the Admissions Information session on November 15. The campus is located on a 524-acre wildlife and nature preserve near Johnson Space Center. According to the Special Events Department, “UHCL is a sanctuary from the bustling city for those who seek a quiet retreat for their scholasticendeavors.” This semester's information session will take place on November 15 from 6-7:30 PM at the Student Services Building. Topics to be discussed include the admissions process, student services, financial aid and scholarships.

Manvel High School pounds Dawson to clinch perfect regular season

The Manvel Mavericks won our first District Championship in Football by beating the Dawson Eagles at The Rig in Pearland. Mavs went into hostile territory and came out the champs beating the Eagles 44 - 21, sending them to 3rd place in the district. We play at Hopper Stadium in Freeport against the El Campo Ricebirds on Friday, November 11th @ 7:30pm.
