Sedona Lakes Wide Open Road Drawing Winner

Home buyers were invited to discover the "Wide Open Road" to Sedona Lakes in April, a promotional event to draw attention to the opening of the new CR 101 exit off Highway 288. While visiting, shoppers were invited to register to win an Apple iPad, no purchase required.

Monkia Lal and her husband Ashit Mohanlal visited Darling Homes during the event and they were the lucky iPad winners.

Pearland Old Townsite Farmers Market

Pearland residents plan to bring reusable shopping bags to use as they peruse the booths at the Old Townsite Farmers Market each second and fourth Saturday of the month from 8am until noon.

The vendors this year have a wide array of fresh produce, baked goods, grass fed meats, as well as soaps and natural dog treats. The Farmers Market also has special events such as Kids Zumba, Yoga at the Market, and children’s crafts. The Market also features a “Gardener’s Corner” for local residents to sell their extra produce, herbs, and flowers!

Alvin Public Library to Hold Grand Re-Opening

It’s time to celebrate the grand re-opening of the Alvin Public Library. A day of festivity is scheduled for Thursday, May 19th, thanks to the hard work and generous donations made by the community after hurricane Ike caused the library to be closed due to water damage and a fire.

The Kiwanis Club and Rotary Club, as well as many members of the community, both individuals and businesses, have donated money to help with the repair costs that significantly exceeded the city’s insurance company settlement. In addition, the Alvin Police Officers Association held a bar-b-cue cook-off to help the library.

Pearland Celebrates SummerFest

Bring the entire family out to Pearland’s popular Southdown Park for the SummerFest Concert Series every Friday now through June 24th at 7 p.m.

Each week a live band will perform music from an array of genre’s including Caribbean, Country Western, Top 40 and Variety. In addition, the splash pad and playground will be open for the kids to play and food vendors will be onsite selling refreshments.
